The idea for a Turku Cricket Club blog was proposed by our hardcore fan. Cheers David.
The aim is to allow us to write about anything TCC related. Over on the forum http://turkucc.com/forum/index.php that means practice times and fixtures. Hopefully, we'll expand on that to include biased match reports, irreverent features about cricket in Finland, tall stories e.g. about how far Asim hit that ball against Empire, etc. In addition, I hope it will do away with the need for our website, which, like all previous efforts to keep the world informed about TCC, has not been updated in a long time.
It's up to you now.

ReplyDeletemmm.....I wonder why. Perhaps it's because no-one can be arsed to get off their backsides and actually do anything for the websites.
And the general trend of "all previous efforts" of a TCC website has failed because.......no-one can be arsed to get off their backsides and actually do anything........
So maybe instead of whinging about a lack of updates and starting yet another new great idea, people could actually contribute to an already existing web presence and play a part in it.
Ah this is more like it. Excellent points Andy McG.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, this will add to the main website, breathe new life into it and not detract from it. You should be able to take stuff from here for it. This will be sort of my side project. In that sense it will be more personal than the forum. Here I would like to emphasise that forum issues e.g. team selection and how we react to such decisions as that made by the FCA at the end of the season will be forum only.
I intend to use it to build the sort of information that should be on the website. However, this will happen slowly, in a piecemeal way. When they're complete enough they can be put on the website.
I also believe that the more places TCC can be found on the web the more chance there is of people getting in touch and joining.
Apart from the above vague ideas I have very few clear plans for this blog, so let's see where it goes.
Cheers
In that case 'Vive La Blog'.
ReplyDeleteAny ideas which breathes life into and gets things moving on the TCC front deserves a medal ;0)
